Somatic Astrology: Embodying Your Natal Moon

Somatic Astrology: Embodying Your Natal Moon
90-minute Mini-Workshop | April 16

Link to complete registration form.

On the threshold of the Aries New Moon, a time of initiation and new beginnings, you are invited into a guided, embodied exploration of your natal Moon.

In astrology, the Moon represents the emotional body, instinctual responses, and unconscious patterns that shape how we feel, relate, and move through the world. It is the part of us that remembers, protects, and responds before the mind has time to make meaning.

In this 90-minute somatic workshop, we will move beyond intellectual understanding and into direct, embodied experience.

You will learn embodiment practices for the core components of your Moon placement, including:

  • Element (fire, earth, air, water)

  • Modality (cardinal, fixed, mutable)

  • Energetic expression (yin / yang)

  • The archetypal qualities of your Moon sign

Through guided movement, breath, and sounding practices, you’ll explore how these qualities live within your body and how they shape your patterns, your emotional landscape, and your natural ways of expressing and protecting yourself.

This is not about prescribing or labelling any part of you based on your Moon sign or trying to change it, but about:

  • embodied self reflection and inquiry

  • understanding the Moon as not something “up in the sky” but also a part of us

  • learning tools to expand your range of expression

  • softening unconscious patterns through embodied presence

You’ll leave with tools to continue working with your Moon as a living, moving part of your experience, both on and off the dancefloor.

No prior astrology or movement experience is needed - just a willingness to listen, feel, and explore.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our time together will weave between shared circle and embodied, experiential practices, inviting you into a deeper relationship with your inner Moon.

ARRIVAL + TUNING IN
We’ll begin with open space for arrival and gentle warm-up. This is an invitation into moving meditation, a time to land in your body, soften out of the mind, and begin listening inward.

OPENING ATTUNEMENT
A guided embodiment practice rooted in Focusing to connect with your inner Moon, your emotional and instinctual landscape.

EXPERIENTIAL MOVEMENT + INQUIRY
The majority of our time will be spent in guided somatic exploration and reflective inquiry. Through breath, sound, sensation, writing, and freeform movement, you’ll explore the elemental and archetypal qualities of your Moon and how they live within your body.

CLOSING + INTEGRATION
We’ll close with space to integrate your experience and offer simple tools to continue deepening your relationship with your Moon beyond the workshop.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I acknowledge and honor the original caretakers of the lands we gather and dance on now: among other Coast Salish people, Vashon-Maury Island is the traditional, unceded land of the sx̌ʷəbabs (“Swift Water People”), known today as part of the Puyallup Tribe, who call themselves S’Puyalupubsh - “a people who are generous and welcoming to all people (friends and strangers) who enter our lands.” I offer recognition and respect to the ancestors past, present and emerging. If there is anyone reading this statement or attending any Danser Libre classes that are descendants from any first naSons lineage, you are honored and included in this acknowledgement too.
